Iyan Zazzau, Bashar Aminu has served the state government with his court suit challenging the appointment of Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli as Emir of Zazzau.
He is praying the court to restrain him from parading himself as the Emir of Zazzau and to further restrain the state government from administering the oath of office on him.

Some members of the emirate council who prefer to be anonymous are of the opinion that even if El-Rufai wants to use the power of government to perpetuate Ahmed in office, such illegality should not go unchallenged, demanding that the governor should prove in court that the Kingmakers were bribed as he alleged, else they demand an apology and damages.
Stating also that, the Kaduna State Government (KDSG) should also be made to defend if they have the authority to install a person who wasn’t recommended by the Kingmakers as Emir since the new Emir didn’t satisfy one of the criteria that says a nominee should have been a council member and district head for at least 5 years, and Ahmed had never held either office they need to defend the parameters they used to select him.
