Armed Boko Haram terrorists on Tuesday attacked Katarko community in Gujba Local Government Council of Yobe State, destroying a primary school and a healthcare centre located in the community.
Confirming the attack, a resident Fantami Kura who spoke with newsmen said the gunmen stormed the community at about 5:30 am when they were going to the mosque for prayers.
A resident, who gave his name as Mohammed Ahmed added that the insurgents also dislodged a security formation and hoisted their flag over the military formation as residents fled for safety.
Katarko Town is 18 kilometres away from Damaturu, the state capital, which had witnessed series of attacks, including the bombing of a bridge that linked Katarko- Buni Yadi- Biu Road in the past.
