Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), a non-profit civil rights organisation today (Sunday 2 May 2021), organised a rally against rape in Damagum, headquarter of Fune Local Government of Yobe State.

In the rally, led by Aisha Alhaji  Mohamed, women leader of WARDC; and the President of National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) in Damagum, people were chanting “we say no to rape”.

With the increase in rape cases in Nigeria, they called on the Nigerian government to look critically into the situation and penalise offenders despite their status.
