I’d rather die with my people than run away from gunmen – Gov. Zulum

Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum said he will continue to visit Martai, the former capital of Martai Local Government which has been destroyed by insurgency for years. He said he will continue to visit dangerous areas in the state to assemble his people.

In all local governments visited by the Governor, he goes with millions of Naira and assorted food stuff to distribute to those who are still alive.

Zulum has been quoted in the past telling the press and Borno elders that he would prefer to die in service instead of sitting in Maiduguri only to enjoy himself with money coming from Abuja”.

The Governor noted that several times, he has received letters of commendation from people outside Nigeria and will continue with what he is doing until peace is restored fully in Borno state.
