Why I am running for Presidency in 2023 – Okunnu-Lamidi

As the 2023 general elections in Nigeria continue to gather momentum and big wigs in the country’s political class have started declaring their intentions to run for the presidency, for the first time in the history of Nigeria’s politics, Mrs Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi, a 38-year-old media entrepreneur has thrown her hat in the ring.

Okunnu-Lamidi, who is the daughter of Femi Okunnu (SAN), a former Federal Works commissioner, recently declared her interest to run for the presidency at the iconic Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Lagos.

Although, she is yet to join a political party, however, she believes the country can achieve her dreams by harnessing on its diverse populace.

She said, “I am running for the office of President because I believe Nigeria can harness its potential to be the nation of our dreams. We can move from a third world country into a developed nation with innovation and technology.

“I believe in the possibilities Nigeria holds;that is why I have taken this first step,not because there are no fears,but the will to bring about the Nigeria we all wish,hope and believe we can make a reality together.”

Okunnu-Lamidi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Bolton and a Master’s in Strategic Project Management (MSc) from Heriot-Watt University.

Earlier in the week, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has declared to run for the presidency as well as Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi.
