After collecting the sum of N2.5 million, the suspects did not release the child and it was discovered that he was killed.

“On 3rd November 2022, police detectives attached to Anti-Violence Squad arrested the suspects in connection with the kidnapping and suspected murder of a six years old child, Laminu Sani, ‘M’ of Bulunku area, Gusau,” said Shehu.

“Their arrest followed a complaint from one Sani Garba who reported to the police that one of the suspects, Kabiru Idi of Yarkatsina village, in the Bungudu LGA rented a room in his house and stayed for a period of three months.

“During his stay in the house he (Idi) conspired with his collaborators and kidnapped Garba’s child, Laminu, with a view to collecting ransom from the father.

“The sum of N2.5 million was given to them, not knowing that they have already killed the kidnapped child.

“In the course of investigation, all the suspects confessed to the crime and further explained their role in the kidnapping of the child.”

Shehu said the victims would soon be arraigned to court for justice to take its course.
