Abuja airport reopens after jet incident
Flight operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, were briefly suspended on Thursday following an incident involving a private jet on the runway.
The aircraft, a Gulfstream 400 with registration number 5N-PZE, reportedly suffered nosewheel damage while landing around 2 p.m. The jet, which had departed from Enugu Airport, was carrying 10 passengers and four crew members at the time of the incident.
A source at the airport confirmed the development, noting that there were no casualties among those onboard. “Yes, I can confirm there was an aircraft incident at Abuja Airport today. The Gulfstream jet from Enugu had a nosewheel problem during landing. Fourteen people were onboard, including crew members, and thankfully, everyone is safe,” the source said.

The damaged aircraft was later evacuated from the runway, allowing normal flight operations to resume.
As of press time, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Henry Agbebire, had yet to respond to inquiries regarding the incident.
