Adamawa 2023: Aisha Dahiru becomes 1st female governor in Nigeria

Adamawa 2023: Aisha Dahiru becomes 1st female governor in Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the winner of the Adamawa Governorship election.

With this feat, Ms Binani will become the first democratically elected female governor in Nigeria.

Aisha Dahiru is the All Progressives Candidate flagbearer who is challenging the incumbent Governor, Ahmadu Fintir of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the elections were held in 69 polling units across 20 local government areas in the state.
