Adamawa gov’t closes schools due to measles outbreak
Responding promptly to a measles outbreak, the Adamawa State Government has taken decisive action by ordering the immediate closure of both public and private schools.
The directive, which was issued on Monday, aims to limit the spread of the disease and facilitate vaccination efforts being carried out by the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA).

The Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, led by Permanent Secretary Aisha Umar, has announced a rescheduled school reopening date for May 13, 2024, while stressing the importance of strict adherence by all educational establishments.
With 42 children having tragically lost their lives to the outbreak, the government is determined to emphasize its dedication to containing the disease and preventing further loss of life through these crucial precautions.
