Iran’s top military body condemns EU move against IRGC

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the European Union’s decision to blacklist the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), describing the move as hostile and unjustified.

In a statement released on Friday, the top military body said the EU’s action was irrational, irresponsible, and detestable, stressing that it was taken in unquestioning obedience to what it described as the hegemonic and inhumane policies of the United States and the Israeli regime.

The statement noted that the decision reflects the depth of hostility and resentment harboured by EU leaders toward the Iranian nation, its Armed Forces, and the country’s security, sovereignty, and independence.

Reaffirming the role of the IRGC in safeguarding Iran’s territorial integrity and national interests, the General Staff warned that such measures would not weaken Iran’s defensive capabilities or undermine the resolve of its armed forces.
