Bauchi police arrest serial rapist, 50, for defiling 4-year-old in mosque

The police command in Bauchi state has arrested a 50-year-old serial rapist for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old minor inside a mosque in the state.

Confirming the crime in a press release, the Police Public Relations DSP Ahmed Wakil said the suspect was rescued by the police from an angry mob ready to Lynch him.

The statement states “On the 03/09/2020 at about 1130hrs one Jamilu Abdullahi.

‘M’ of Igbo Quarters reported at the Township Police Station that on the same date at about 0920hrs that angry mob were beating an unknown person at Aminu street, a team of police officers move to the scene the suspect was rescued with various degree of injuries and subsequently taken to hospital for treatment who was identify as Yusuf Bako ‘M’ aged 50years of Yakubu Wanka Street Bauchi, lured one jummai (not real name) ‘F’ aged 4years to a Mosque located at Aminu Street and “had carnal knowledge with her”.

The statement revealed that Yusuf Bako has confessed to the crime.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State.

Command CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta psc, has called on the good people of the state to continue exercising their civil responsibility of pointing and giving vital information that may ease police in its operations to steam the state of all form of crime and criminality.
