Sokoto based cleric and social crusader, Alhaji Bello Yabo, was in Birnin Kebbi today on a private visit to friends and associates in the spirit of the Eid-El Kabir Sallah celebration.
One of the places he visited was the residence of Birnin Kebbi based journalist and social critic, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK (Maibindiga).
During the visit, the two men lamented the high rate of corruption and the inherent inequalities, in the distribution of the wealth and resources of the country, they agreed that this has fuelled joblessness leading to heightened criminal activities in the country, and called on the government to up the ante of its fight against corruption, providing jobs in the short term and reposition both western and religious education in the long term in order to make young men employable.
They urged the government to check the proliferation of small arms as well as deal with banditry and all forms of crimes in all parts of Nigeria.
