Benue gov’t declares public holiday ahead of Tinubu’s one-day visit

The Benue State Government has declared Wednesday, June 18, a work-free dayahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state.

The declaration was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Deborah Aber, on Tuesday in Makurdi, the state capital.

“This is in honour of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who is scheduled for a one-day visit to the state.

“The visit is to commiserate with the government and people of the state over incessant security challenges.

On Monday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that Tinubu would visit Benue State on Wednesday, as part of renewed efforts to foster peace and address the persistent conflict affecting communities in the state.

The President also rescheduled his official visit to Kaduna State.

Tinubu was earlier scheduled to visit Kaduna State on Wednesday to commission various state government projects.
