Court remands jealous wife for assaulting husband with pressing iron

Story from Hamzat Ibrahim ABAGA

A Sharia Court in Rijiyar Lemu, Kano State has remanded Hafsa Ibrahim, a woman accused of assaulting her husband, Jamilu Muhammad, with a local pressing iron.

The incident reportedly occurred due to suspicions that Muhammad had been engaging in conversations with other women on his phone.

During the court hearing, the prosecutor, Usman Shuaibu Dala, presented additional charges against the accused. These charges included the destruction of 90 sets of her husband’s clothes using scissors and the seizure of his handset, which was valued at N80,000.
