Death toll rises to 15, several injured in fresh Plateau massacre

Death tolls rises Bandits have launched a fresh attack on Rock Pinau community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack which happened on Sunday afternoon at the town’s market square left no fewer than 15 people dead.
According to reports, the bandits laid ambush and positioned men who started shooting sporadically inside the Pinau market, the stray bullets led to the instant dead of 1o people with several others badly injured.
The incident happened while the villagers were packing up after the weekly community market sells.

Its alleged that a misunderstanding between two families in the locality caused the attack.
A businessman who spoke with anonymity revealed that the bandits invasion started with kidnapping on the communiity highways, which has been giving villagers sleepless nights for sometime. He said he arrived the market and was warned by a resident to be careful where he goes or spends the night, as there are rumours of impending attack.
A member of the community, Hamman Sale, who also confirmed the attack via telephone conversation said the bandits that invaded the community were suspected to have come from Zamfara State.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command ASP Gabriel Ubah, confirmed the attack and said men have been deployed to the scene.
Earlier, the bandits had attacked Sapiyo town, where they kidnapped a nursing house wife and a prominent APC Chieftain who works with the Deputy Speaker in the house of representatives Idris Wase.
