Edo woman arrested for fake kidnapping, ₦5M ransom demand

The Edo State Police Command has arrested Chioma Ezebie Adaniken and two accomplices for staging her own kidnapping to extort ₦5 million from her husband.

According to a statement by ASP Eno Ikoedem, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, the plot was uncovered following a report by Paul Adaniken, who received a ransom demand after being told his wife and son were abducted.

Investigations revealed that Chioma conspired with her cousin, Osita Godfrey, and another suspect, Martins Chidozie, to fake the kidnapping. All suspects have confessed, and the ransom money was recovered.
