Emir of Fika turbans AVM Bagare as Kauran Fika
The Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers Dr. Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa has turbaned Air Vice Marshall (AVM), Abubakar Bala Bagare (rtd) as Kauran Fika.
The traditional title of Kauran Fika means Chief of Defence of the Emirate.
Speaking during the ceremony at Emir’s palace in Potiskum, the Emir said Bagare’s appointment was based on his good track records of performance during and after the service.
The Emir who spoke through Galadima of Fika, Air Commodore Ibrahim Alkali (Rtd), said Bagare had contributed positively for the development of the Emirate, state and the country at large.
According to him, he is a man of integrity, who shows respect for the emirate and renders assistance to less-privileged people among others.
On his part, Bagare thanked the emir and entire emirate for the confidence placed on him and assured to continue doing his best.
Bagare retired as Group Managing Director Nigerian Air Force Holding Company Limited. He was born on 2nd January, 1965, at Potiskum, Yobe State.
He had his primary and secondary education in Potiskum and Damagum respectively, and proceeded to attend Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri from 1982 to 1984. After which he enrolled Into the Nigerian Defence Academy where he was commissioned as a pilot officer and also bagged Bsc Mathematics in 1989.
Bagare also pursued post graduate courses in Bayero University Kano, Lagos State Polytechnic and Lagos State University between 1987 to 2009. He had his National Defence course and masters in strategic studies in 2012 at NDC Dhaka and Bangladesh University of professionals respectively.
Besides his regimental duties, he is a member of several professional bodies among which are Fellow Chartered National Accountants of Nigeria, member National Institute of Management and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants and Administrators USA.
The Kauran Fika served in various capacities in his professional carrier among which are Director Budget, Acting Director of Finance and Accounts and Principal Air Staff Officer to the Chief of Air Staff.
He was the Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Air Force Investments Limited and later, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Holding Company. He also served as Director Strategy at the Defence Headquarters.
He is married and blessed with 3 children.
