Four arrested in connection with killing, dumping of lady in hotel swimming pool
Four individuals have been apprehended by the Anambra State Police Command in connection with the murder and disposal of a young woman’s body in an abandoned hotel swimming pool in Awka, the state capital.
The Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment, Hon Don Onyenji, confirmed that the hotel had been sealed off by the state government pending the completion of the police investigation.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the individuals currently in custody include a celebrant who was hosting a birthday party at the club located within the hotel, where the woman, believed to be around 30 years old, was found deceased.

While the spokesperson did not disclose the names of the celebrant and the three other suspects, he mentioned that the others were club staff members associated with “The Same” club.
The shocking incident has caused a stir in Awka, as a disturbing video of the woman’s lifeless body floating in the swimming pool started circulating on social media.
Sources indicate that the victim, identified as Miss Chinyere, was a well-known club-goer in the city. Allegedly, she was attacked and beaten to death by friends of the birthday celebrant at the club on Saturday, accusing her of stealing money that had been sprayed on the celebrant.
Witnesses claim that while money was being thrown at the celebrant, Chinyere was caught picking it up and keeping it for herself. This action apparently enraged some of the celebrant’s friends, who then proceeded to assault her, ultimately dumping her body into the abandoned swimming pool.
The police spokesperson stated that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in this tragic incident.
