Fraud: UNICAL mobilised bread seller who didn’t attend school for service – NYSC

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has disclosed a startling case of fraud within the mobilisation process.

A bread seller, who did not attend the University of Calabar, was fraudulently included in the list of graduates mobilised for the scheme.

This revelation comes after the NYSC recently invalidated 101 certificates issued to graduates from the University of Calabar.

Brigadier General Ahmed commended the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi, for her honesty in reporting the mobilisation of unqualified individuals.

“We discovered that a bread seller was mobilised as a graduate. Such actions undermine the integrity of our institutions, and we are committed to cleansing the process,” Ahmed stated.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining strict standards to ensure that only qualified graduates are mobilised for the NYSC programme.
