GoHealth trains officers on enrollment of citizens in contributory health scheme

Story from Najibullahi ADAMU, Gombe

The Gombe State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (GoHealth) has commenced a state-wide training exercise on how to enroll citizens on the basic health care provision fund.

According to a press release issued Friday by the Public Relations Officer, Darius Samson, the scheme is aimed at giving all citizens access to basic health care at an affordable price even as he said beneficiaries had begun to receive their GoHealth ID cards.

He said the agency would train facility managers, ward development committee (WDCs) chairpersons, and desk officers on how to register beneficiaries on GoHealth.

“The state-wide training would be held in all local government areas across the state. This comes as GoHealth has embarked on an upgrade of its processes compared to the previous year.

“The training session is aimed at sharing the latest upgrade to GoHealth ICT framework as well as appraise the performance of each facility and recommend the way forward,” he said.

He revealed that some of the innovations introduced by the agency include automation of referral procedures, online collation and submission of beneficiary encounter data as well as freewill for beneficiaries to move their services to another facility where they are not satisfied with their previous hospital.

Samson said the agency had also instructed all health facilities to set up desk offices that would attend to GoHealth beneficiaries at any given time.
