Gov. Buni commissions mega school, flags off construction of modern market in Geidam

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni on Thursday flagged off the construction of N3.8 billion Geidam ultra modern market in Geidam town.

The modern market has about 500 shops, administrative blocks, perimeter fence, gate house, road network, drains, mosque, public toilets, stalls, and stores.

Speaking during the flagging-off event, Governor Buni said the market was part of the state initiative to enhance commercial activities, improve internally generated revenue and create job opportunity for the teeming youths in the state.

Governor Buni stated that the present administration has adopted an all encompassing agenda that is solidly base on development and the implementation of people oriented policies and programmes in the state.

“The state is committed to creating a conductive environment for trade and investment.

“Alhamdulllah for the tremendous improvement in security we have been witnessing in Geidam and the entire state.

“The contract for the construction of the market was awarded to Green and Blue Commutation Electronic Limited, an indigenous firm based in Damaturu to the sum of N3.8 billion.

Governor Buni enjoined the local government council, traditional and the business community in Geidam to support and cooperate with the firm for the timely completion of the project.
