Gov. Buni sues for peaceful LG election

Yobe state Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has called on candidates of the forthcoming local government council election and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the electioneering period.

The Governor urged the people to elect their preferred candidates peacefully with respect to the rights of others

Governor Buni said Yobe state is a pacesetter and role model in peaceful electioneering, “this should be sustained and promoted”.

“We have never allowed our political differences to tear us apart, it must never be different in this election” he said.

According to the governor, the election of chairmen and councillors revolves around brothers and sisters so it should be carried out peacefully across the state” he said.

“Every eligible voter should be allowed to exercise his right of electing a leader of his choice.

“I also appeal to the State Independent Electoral Commission to maintain justice and fairness to every candidate and electorate” Buni said.
