Gov. Fintiri suspends all NGOs in Adamawa over illegal political activities

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has suspended the operations of international and local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Adamawa State.

Governor Fintiri gave the directive on Tuesday while briefing newsmen during his state broadcast after the general elections.

The Governor revealed that some NGOs were operating as political parties sharing items and buying votes therefore all their activities are banned until after the elections.

He revealed that some NGOs were using their outreach to the people to play politics and buy votes for some political organisations.

He warned that any NGO found in operations within Adamawa State would be apprehended and arrested with immediate effect.

He warned all citizens to avoid violent behaviour as the security agents have been mandated to descend upon anyone or person causing trouble or disrupting peace within the state.
