Gov. Kefas appoints 1,270 aides

In a proactive move to enhance governance in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas has appointed 1,270 executive aides to support various roles within the state government.

The appointments, which included special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, and members of boards, commissions, and agencies, were made rapidly over a 24-hour period from Monday, July 15th to Tuesday, July 16th, 2024.

A press statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Gebon Kataps, confirmed the appointments and highlighted the diverse responsibilities the appointees will undertake to contribute to the state’s progress.

The state government initially announced 573 names on Monday, followed by an additional 502 names released on Tuesday evening, supplementing the previous 195 appointees.

Notably, the appointees are yet to be assigned specific portfolios.

These new appointments complement the existing five individuals who were earlier appointed with designated portfolios upon Governor Kefas’ assumption of office.

The state government has indicated that the appointment process will occur in four phases, with the final batch of appointees eagerly anticipated.
