Gunmen abduct pastor’s wife, demand N32 million ransom

The wife of Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi from the Redeem Church Ministry in Lokoja, Kogi State, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen who are allegedly demanding a ransom of N32m for her release.

Reports indicate that the incident took place yesterday around 2pm at the entrance of their residence in Ibaji quarters, Lokoja.

The perpetrators apparently followed the woman from a popular eatery near the Specialist Hospital to her home, without her knowing.

Family members confirmed that the abductors reached out to the woman’s husband, a retired permanent secretary turned pastor, to demand the hefty sum of N32m for her safe return.

“The miscreants followed the woman to her house at Ibaji quarters, Lokoja and blocked her vehicle at the gate of her house around 2pm. The hoodlums shot sporadically into the air and left with her to unknown destination,” one of the sources said.

The source added that negotiation was still ongoing between the family and her abductors but the hoodlums are threatening to harm the woman if their request is not met on time.
