Gunmen invade Akwa Ibom hotel, abduct navy officer, 7 others
Terrorists have attacked Ibaka in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, kidnapping eight persons, including a Naval Rating.
The victims were reportedly abducted Monday night at Classic Point Hotel, Ibaka by gunmen who made away with them to yet unknown hideout.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command, Timfon John, said, “When the police got the information, Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, led a team of security personnel to the community.
“I can assure you that with that visit by the CP and other strategic approaches normalcy will return,” the statement said.
The Naval authority in Akwa Ibom is yet to speak on the development which is coming days after a bus driver and 18 passengers leaving Uyo to Port Harcourt, Rivers State were abducted with their whereabouts still a mystery to security personnel.
