Herder who cut-off Plateau farmer’s hand surrenders to police

A 24-year-old herder, Abdulrahman Kaila, who choped-off the hand of a farmer in Lakushi Sabonlayi Village in Shendam local government area of Plateau State has surrendered to the police.

He made the confession when he was paraded by the Police in Jos, the state capital.

The suspect said, “The Farmer and victim chased me from going near his farm, when non of the farmer’s crop was touched by my cows.

“The farmer attempted injuring me with a catapult and tried to harm me with an object.

“But inorder to defend myself, I used my cutlass to chop-off the farmer’s hand.

“I surrendered to a taskforce checkpoint and they handed me over to the police. The police didn’t arrest me,” said Abdulrahman Kaila.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo said the suspect will be interrogated and charged to court for prosecution.
