Honourable Justice Eddy Onyia dies aged 70

On Sunday 19th September 2021, Honourable Justice Eddy Onyia (Rtd) aged 70, died.

Dr Mike Onyia, the brother to the late Honourable Justice Eddy Onyia (Rtd) in a telephone conversation with Neptune Prime said: “My brother wasn’t sick. Actually, he attended his son’s wedding on Saturday 18th September, a day before he died. He was at the church wedding from the beginning to the end.

“The following morning after his son’s wedding, on Sunday, 19th September, 2021, he complained that he wasn’t feeling too well. Everyone thought it was the stress of the previous day’s event and he just needed to rest well.

“The situation soon got worse and he requested to be assisted to see his physician. He got weaker and weaker and had to be rushed to the nearest hospital. The doctor certified him dead on arrival.

“My brother never had a history of any ailment, none that I was aware of. He wasn’t hypertensive or diabetic”, he said.

Late Honourable Justice Eddy Onyia (Rtd) who hails from Enugu South Local Government Area, Enugu State is survived by his wife and four children, three boys and a girl.
