How bike man in Imo raped varsity student in bush

An Imo State University undergraduate has narrated how a commercial bike rider commonly known as Okada, Mr Emeka Christopher, raped her in a bush.

The incident took place on September 30, 2020, in Imo State, at the Akwakuma area by Ezeigodo Street where she went to visit a friend at around 6 pm.

The victim narrated how the Okada man rode her inside a bush for two hours before raping her.

She narrated that the Okada man first forced her to suck his manhood while he releases sperm inside her mouth and forced her to swallow it before raping her and inflicting injuries in her private parts and other parts of her body.

“The Okada man after raping me took me to Ogbosisi junction where I can board a taxi on the condition that I would not utter a word on our way and even when he drops me.

“However, when I alighted from his bike at the junction, I used the last strength in me to shout ‘thief oo, thief oo’ and he sped off.

“The villagers pursued and caught him, beat him to stupor after hearing the incident before handing him over to the police”.

The undergraduate was rushed to the Nigeria Police Hospital at Amakohia where different tests were conducted on her while one of the tests showed the presence of dead sperm in her.

Right and Welfare of Traumatized Wives and Youths Initiative, a non-governmental organization which took up the case disclosed that the suspect has been remanded in prison by the Magistrate at Court 5, Owerri.

The NGO further disclosed that he was arraigned on the 7th of October on a two-count charge of forcefully having carnal knowledge of the victim and robbery.

The case has been adjourned to October 21 pending advice by Imo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
