‘’They called me and asked for 15 million Naira cash, we negotiated and I first gave them N2 million, they collected the money in Rigasa area of Kaduna. Later, they called me again and demanded for additional N1.5 million as the only condition to finalize the release of my daughter.”

‘’I did not argue, and obliged them. However, after paying the ransom as demanded on the 19th of January, they called me and told me they have killed her. and immediately switched off the phone.

He explained how devastated he was to receive the news of his daughter’s dead after doing whatever the kidnappers asked of him.

”Since from the initial stage, I was following the kidnappers calmly, doing their bidding because of the fear of losing my child. Now, they have killed her.”

“I know those who kidnapped her and killed her. They are around us. I have strong evidence. I have told the police. And they are on it. Infact the suspects have been arrested,” he said.

The innocent girl had been in captivity for over a month, according to locals.

Residents said that the incident was alleged to have been perpetrated by one Kabir, neighbour to the father of Asmau, Alhaji Shuaibu Wa’alamu.

A post by one Musa Ahmed shared by Hausa Fulanii on Instagram, hinted that the young lady was abducted while on her way to buy a recharge card.

The post claimed ransom of N3 million was demanded and paid by the family but later, the girl was killed by her abductor.

In the online post, it was written “My friend’s daughter, an 8 year old girl, has been kidnapped on her way to buy recharge card in our neighborhood.

“She has been gone for the past 42 days, and her abductors who demanded the sum of N3 million, which was given to them sadly killed her eventually.”

Neighbors suspected that the girl might have recognised her abductor, whom they alleged to be residing close to their house.

Narrating further, a local residents claimed the kidnappers got furious after waiting for the second ransom money to be delivered to them by the girl’s dad.

“They called the man and demanded for another money, in the event of waiting for him, the guy was so furious because of the cool weather at night, he called the father and informed him he hasn’t seen anyone yet. Then, the father called the number and asked them to tell him the truth if they have killed the girl.”

“lo and behold, they said, they have killed and buried her in a shallow grave, four days ago. The good part is that the suspect and his family have been arrested yesterday.”

Although it was said that the suspects have been arrested, and are currently in custody, security operatives are yet to give updates about the culprits.
