Buni-Yadi town, headquarters of Gujba LG of Yobe State has been without electricity for about six years due to the activities of Boko Haram terrorists who hitherto captured the town before it was liberated by the Military in 2015.

During his campaign, Governor Mai Mala Buni who hails from the LG promised to restore electricity to the town which he said is critical because energy supply can help JumpStart the economy of the community that was earlier destroyed by the terrorists.

Eleven months into his tenure, Governor Mai Mala Buni has fulfilled his promise and Buni-Yadi is now fully reconnected with electricity which is a product of State Government’s multi-million naira project.

It is expected that the restoration of the energy supply will spur economic growth and development of Buni-Yadi town.
