Kane’s double lifts Bayern past union, Frankfurt scores 7 against Bochum

Harry Kane showcased his scoring prowess with two goals and an assist, propelling Bayern Munich to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Union Berlin on Saturday. This win has pushed Bayern three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

The England captain opened the scoring from the penalty spot 15 minutes into the game after Union’s Benedict Hollerbach fouled Michael Olise. Kane later assisted Kingsley Coman just before halftime, who fired the ball past Union’s goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow. Kane then grabbed his second goal in the 51st minute, putting Bayern in a dominant position.

Despite recent Champions League setbacks at Aston Villa and Barcelona, Bayern has been on a scoring spree in the Bundesliga, amassing 16 goals without conceding in their last four matches.

“There’s still a long way to go, but we’ve got the right mentality and the right attitude,” Kane said to Sky. “If we keep going like this, everything will be OK — we’re in good shape.”

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt put on a scoring clinic, thrashing Bochum 7-2. Omar Marmoush scored one and provided two assists, bringing his season tally to 10 goals, just one behind Kane. Marmoush also leads the league in assists with six.

Bochum remains rooted at the bottom of the table with only one point from nine matches.
