Kannywood actress expresses profound gratitude to God as she marries her kind of man

Rukayya Dawayya, one of the pioneer members of the Kano-based Hausa film industry Kannywood has said that she is extremely grateful to God for finally giving her a decent and God-fearing man to take her as a wife.

Dawayya is billed to be wedded to the Executive Director, Films and Censorship Board, Na Abba Afakallah tomorrow, Friday, at Tishama Jumaat Mosque Kano.

Already her friends and those of Afakallah have started arriving in Kano to be part of the wedding ceremony which is expected to be one of the biggest of recent.

In a statement in Kano which she posted on social media, she claimed that it is not easy these days as a divorcee, to come across a gentleman like Na Abba Afakallah to marry as a husband, but this, she added, is because of her prayers to God to bring somebody that will marry her and take care of her.

The beautiful actress that was born in 1985 had it rough when she joined Kannywood at the beginning, but later with hard work became successful and set up her own production company, Dawayya Multi Media through which she produced many successful films. Her first popular film was Dawayya where she got her nickname. She featured alongside Musbahu Ahmad who was her first boyfriend in the industry, though their plan to get married was not successful.

She is also engaged in philanthropic activities, during festive periods, she used to distribute foodstuff, wrappers, money and other assorted materials to the poor.

Later she got married to a Yola-based businessman Adamu Teku, who is into land business in Abuja, they had a boy named Arafat, which she gave birth to in Saudi Arabia during the Arafat period. but after some time when she came to Kano to see her mother that was visiting them from Saudi Arabia, her husband sent her a text message telling her that their marriage was over.

Tomorrow Kano will see a serious bash from friends and associates of Rukayya and her new husband, when Neptune Prime’s correspondent spoke to Dawayya’s close friend and they were upbeat expecting tomorrow to come in earnest so that they will witness Dawayya’s second marriage. Afakallah a close friend to our correspondent did not pick calls or message sent to him to wish them the best in the coming event.
