Kano divorcee cancels 2nd wedding because groom sent her gifts in polythene bag

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

A divorcee in Kano cancelled her marriage on the day it was to take place because the groom sent the marriage items to her in a polythene bag.

One Ibrahim who is the groom told Freedom Radio Kano that he has been dating the lady for a very long time, and he told her in advance that he would not subject himself to buying boxes but he would buy her some other things like wrappers, perfumes, shoes and 30,000 naira for her to use on the wedding day which she agreed.

But on the wedding day, he sent her the assorted materials and 30,000 naira, and later she called him on phone and told him that she was cancelling the marriage because the materials sent to her were not in boxes. She returned them to me but kept the sum of 10,000 naira which she told me she used it to prepare her body.

He added that maybe God did not destine her to be his wife as such he took what happened in good faith and decided to forgo the wedding. He wished her all the best and he hopes she will wish him the same thing, after all, she is a divorcee with one kid
