Kebbi deputy speaker reportedly appeals for ransom payment from kidnappers’ Den
The abducted Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Sama’ila Muhammed Bagudo, has reportedly spoken from captivity, appealing for funds to secure his release.
Bagudo, who was kidnapped on Friday, October 31, at his residence in Bagudo, was heard in a voice recording circulating on social media platforms in Birnin Kebbi. In the audio clip, he allegedly mentioned that about ₦140 million had been raised so far and urged one of his colleagues in the State Assembly to sell four of his vehicles to meet the ransom target demanded by his captors.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the kidnappers are demanding over ₦200 million for his release.

When contacted, a close associate of the deputy speaker, Malam Abubakar Bagudu, said he was unaware of the voice recording, casting doubt on its authenticity.
“We don’t even know where this clip came from, and we are not certain if the voice is truly that of the Deputy Speaker,” he said. “It’s surprising that someone so close to us would communicate through such a medium without first contacting us.”

Another unconfirmed report indicates that efforts are ongoing to raise the demanded ransom, with hopes of securing Bagudo’s release by Friday.
