Lifeless body of missing 65-yr-old woman found on her farm

A 65-year-old woman said to have been missing since Saturday, July 30, 2022 was found dead on her farm at Fadahunsi area of Ilesa in Osun State on Monday, August 1, 2022.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, said Oluyemi Tunmise, was murdered and that one of her eyes was plucked out by yet to be identified assailants.

According to Opalola in a short statement issued, son of the deceased notified the police of her mother’s whereabout on Monday since her disappearance last Saturday that she was found dead.

“Dare Oluyemi (son of the deceased) of Odundun area reported that his mother, one Oluyemi Tunmise, aged about 65 years, who family members have been searching for since Saturday, 30/07/22, was found dead on her farm at Fadahunsi area Ilesa at about 1130 hours with one of her eyes plucked out by yet to be identified assailants,” the police spokesperson said.

He noted that the complainant and other children of the deceased had refused to allow the police to take the corpse of their late mother to the mortuary stating that the children of the deceased wished to bury their mother and that they threatened violence if the police insisted on going ahead to evacuate the corpse to a mortuary.

The suspects as at the time of report were yet to be arrested by the police.
