Man arrested in Lagos for allegedly murdering ex-girlfriend

Fatai Mogaji, the man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Opeyemi, has been apprehended at F1 Bar in Ikorodu, Lagos.

This tragic incident, which has deeply impacted the local community, has drawn widespread attention and calls for justice.

Mogaji had been evading authorities since the alleged crime occurred on July 10, 2024.

Reports indicate that Opeyemi and Mogaji had met up at a club where they had a seemingly pleasant evening. However, the situation escalated around 5 a.m. when an argument erupted between the two.

This brutal act has left friends and family devastated, igniting a demand for quick action from law enforcement.

The breakthrough in the case came when Opeyemi’s friends recognised Mogaji at the bar and promptly alerted the police.

Following their intervention, Mogaji was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba, for further questioning.

Opeyemi’s sister took to social media to share the news of the arrest, stating, “Good evening, Friends. My sister’s killer, Fatai Mogaji Abdulsalam, was caught last night at F1 Bar Ikorodu by well-wishers and Ope’s friends. He has been moved to Panti Police Station.”

This heartbreaking incident underscores the critical issue of domestic violence and its devastating effects.

Opeyemi’s tragic death serves as a poignant reminder of the necessity to address conflicts within relationships through peaceful means.

The community now stands united in seeking justice for Opeyemi and support for her grieving family.
