Man charged with murder of his mother
A 31-year-old man, Nebojsa Pap, has been charged with the murder of his mother, Mirjana Pap, aged 58, in the Republic of Ireland.
Mirjana’s body was discovered on Monday in a bog near Clonark, County Roscommon. Authorities believe she was killed at her home in Athlone, County Westmeath, on Saturday, December 28.
Nebojsa Pap was brought before a special late sitting of Mullingar District Court on Friday evening. Detective Sergeant Kevin Craig informed the court that the accused made no reply when charged.

The court granted an application for legal aid for Mr Pap, who resides in Beechville, Athlone. The judge remanded him in custody with a directive for medical and psychiatric care.
The accused is scheduled to appear before Athlone District Court via videolink on Wednesday.
