Military rescue 6 abducted university students in Zamfara 

In a glimmer of hope amidst a distressing situation, six out of the 24 students from Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State, who were abducted in the early hours of Friday, have been successfully rescued.

This uplifting development was confirmed by a top military source connected to the Commander of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau.

Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, alongside other security agencies, is presently leading an operation in the forest along Tsafe Local Government Area, determined to rescue the remaining kidnapped students and bring the culprits to justice. The operation has also resulted in the neutralization of several bandits and the recovery of some weapons.

According to a brave student of the university who preferred to remain anonymous for safety reasons, more than 24 of their fellow students, primarily females, were forcibly taken during the attack.

Additionally, a resident of Sabon-Gida named Nazeer Sabon-Gida confirmed that the gunmen invaded the community at around 3 am, with indiscriminate gunfire being unleashed.

The Zamfara State Police Command has acknowledged the abduction of the students and affirmed that ongoing efforts are underway to rescue them.

The spokesperson for the command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, revealed that the exact number of students abducted is yet to be confirmed.
