Mohbad: Lagos court grants Naira Marley, Sam Larry N20 million bail

A Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State has granted Naira Marley and Sam Larry bail in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties.

The music star, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, and Sam Larry, also known as Balogun Eletu, were ordered by the magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, to submit their international passports as part of their bail conditions.

In addition, the two defendants are to make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Olatunbosun cautioned that any attempts to contact her directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.

Olatunbosun said: “As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.”

Naira Marley and Sam Larry were accused of frustrating the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (also known as Mohbad), who passed away on September 12 and was buried the following day.

Naira Marley denied any wrongdoing but was arrested upon his return to Nigeria.
