The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos State, has issued a production warrant for Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, over alleged fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting the artist on 11 charges related to conspiracy and credit card fraud.

However, at a recent hearing, Naira Marley was absent, and his lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, informed the court that his client was detained by the police for questioning regarding the murder of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Ojo requested an adjournment, which was granted by Judge Nicholas Oweibo.

However, the prosecution counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, requested a production warrant to ensure Naira Marley’s presence at the next hearing.

The judge then granted the prosecution’s request and adjourned the case until October 30, 2023, for continuation of the trial.
