NDLEA arrests Indian woman with 72 parcels of heroin at Kano Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended an Indian drug trafficker at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, with 72 parcels of heroin.

The 42-year-old lady was arrested following credible intelligence at the inward clearance of Qatar Airways flight QR1431 from Bangkok, Thailand, via Vietnam and Doha at the arrival hall of the Kano Airport on Friday, March 14.

Confirming the arrest in a statement on Sunday, March 24, the Director of the NDLEA on Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, noted that the substance was sealed in water wraps and packaged as chocolates.

The drugs weighed a total of 11 kilograms.

“A bid that vigilant NDLEA operatives have consistently frustrated with the aid of modern technological tools and proactive intelligence,“ he said.

This comes after the agency arrested a woman on Tuesday, March 17, with 424 bottles of codeine-based syrup in the Lungun Bulala Yalwa area of the Kano State.
