Niger State dissolves electoral commission

The governor of Niger state, Umaru Bago, has announced the dissolution of the State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC).

This is contained in a statement issued by Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman in Minna on Sunday, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

“Members of the commission are directed to hand over all property of the state government in their possession to the most senior Director with immediate effect,” it stated.

The dissolution comes into effect from May 29, and all commission members have been directed to immediately hand over all state government property in their possession to the most senior Director.
