Obama endorses Kamala Harris for US president

Former US President Barack Obama has officially endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidency, potentially giving her campaign a significant boost.

“Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend Kamala Harris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support,” Obama announced on social media platform X.

The endorsement comes as Harris’s campaign aims to build momentum to rival that of Donald Trump.
