Shock in Plateau community as aborted twins discovered at Refuse Dump

Residents of Pankshin Local Government Area in Plateau State have been left in shock following the discovery of aborted twins dumped at a refuse site in an area known as Special Site.

The lifeless infants—a male and a female, estimated to be over five months old—were reportedly found inside a polythene bag.

A resident, Enman Danladi, whose house is located near the refuse dump, narrated how the disturbing discovery was made. He said he was alerted by a local irrigation farmer who had noticed suspicious activity around the site.

According to the farmer, his attention was drawn to the bag after observing a dog sniffing around it while flies hovered nearby. Upon closer inspection, he discovered the remains and quickly informed Danladi.

“I went there with him, and when the bag was opened, we saw the twins,” Danladi recounted.

Following the discovery, Danladi said he mobilised other neighbours, and together they buried the twins at the site. He noted that the incident triggered deep emotions within the community, with many expressing anger and sorrow over the act.

He added that while the perpetrators remain unknown, such incidents are often carried out by individuals from outside the community to avoid identification.
