Police arrest 45 robbery suspects in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 45 suspects in the Kwanar Diso community of Gwale local government area of Kano State for blocking a popular street (Kofar Na’isa) attacking and robbing commuters.

The state’s police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said upon receipt of some criminal acts perpetrated by the suspects, a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, proceeded to the area and cordoned it, entrapping the thugs at Filin Mahaha area.

He said 45 suspected thugs ‘yan daba’ were arrested with weapons and illicit drugs in large quantities were recovered.

Upon interrogation, he said the suspects confessed that they were invited from different parts of the Kano metropolis in the name of attending a wedding ceremony and ended up at Filin Mahaha smoking and taking different illicit drugs.
