Police mobile force repels bandit attack in Kebbi, recovers 141 livestock, two motorcycles

The Police Mobile Force (PMF) in Kebbi State has successfully repelled a bandit attack in Zodi village, saving residents from harm and recovering large quantities of stolen livestock, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to police authorities, operatives swiftly responded to a distress call after armed bandits invaded the community in Zuru Local Government Area. The officers engaged the attackers in a gun duel, forcing them to flee and abandoning the rustled animals.

In the operation, the PMF recovered 141 rustled livestock as well as two motorcycles used by the fleeing bandits. No casualties were reported among security personnel or villagers.

Police officials commended the bravery and rapid response of the operatives, adding that patrols have been intensified across vulnerable communities in Zuru and surrounding areas to deter further attacks.

Residents also expressed relief over the timely intervention, noting that the recovered livestock represented a significant portion of the village’s livelihood.

The Kebbi State Police Command urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies.
