The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has introduced practical strategies to end the security challenges facing Zamfara State.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 10 Sokoto, Mr Ali Janga made this known on Wednesday when he visited Zamfara over the recent security situation in the state.

Speaking to newsmen after meeting with police officers and men at police headquarters, Gusau, the AIG said the police under the IGP, re-strategised its measures to end security challenges in Zamfara and other parts of the country.

“I am here because the IG directed me to brief the officers and men of the command about their constitutional duties as police.

“We adopted new measures to improve security in the state. We are going to partner with other security agencies to tackle the challenges”, Janga said.

The AIG charged the officers and men to be proactive and be alert.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the AIG also visited Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello to seek for traditional rulers support in the fight against bandits in the state.
