Mngusuur Iorlian, a 13-year-old girl who was abducted by a gang in the Kwande council area of Benue State, has been rescued by the police.
DSP Catherine Anene, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident to reporters in Makurdi, Benue State.
Witnesses at the scene said that the teenager was abducted from her home on Easter Sunday at 12:00 pm from her father’s house, located opposite NKST Church, Akpera in Adikpo in Kwande LGA.
DSP Anene stated that they got a tip-off after the incident on the same night, where they rescued and arrested one of the suspects, Vershuma Sunday from the Mbawer community of Kwande local government and recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been used for the operation.
The DSP further added that they were still trying to apprehend the other suspects and that the girl has been reunited with her parents.
