A gang of people suspected to be criminals numbering about six were reported to have stormed into Alhaji Magaji’s residence and killed him in Garki town of the same local government in Jigawa State.
The suspects went into his room directly and demanded money from him, but as he was said to have refused to grant their request, the suspected criminals shot him dead.
It was reliably gathered that until his death he was among the government contractors in the state responsible for feeding the secondary schools student in the area.
Reports have it that as the police patrol team in Garki town heard the gunshots, they quickly rushed to the scene where they engaged in a gun battle with the suspects.
The situation gave the suspects room to run away as the hoodlums escaped on their Bajaj motorcycles, shooting a member of the vigilante group, Malam Ibrahim Sule in the process.
The police confirmed that Malam Ibrahim Sule, who is the member of the vigilante group, was confirmed dead as a result of that gunshot from the suspects.
The police public relations officer, SP Audu Jinjiri, confirmed the story, adding that investigations are still ongoing.
